Another reason to avoid shopping at Best Buy

I have been avoiding shopping at Best Buy for years.

And it’s odd for me to do something like this for this long because I’m not the type of person who holds grudges.

But after having repeated bad experiences with Best Buy customer service, I finally decided that I would prefer to take my business to a store that actually wants it. (This is even if the product costs more at a different store. ) It’s like the saying “Fool me once, shame on you. Fool my twice, shame on me.” There was a time in my life when I let Best Buy fool me many times. I thought that it was a one time occurence or that things would change, or that it was somehow worth it for their prices. But eventually I learned to avoid them, and have been for several years now.

And on a regular basis there are stories that reinforce my stance. Like this one:
BestBuy has paying customer arrested for paying with $2 dollar bills.

So if you find yourself driving up to a Best Buy, please, do yourself and everyone else a favor and turn around and go make your purchase at a different store.
In the long run you’ll thank yourself, and everyone else will too.

Mobile networking

Windows XP home in my car recognized my Treo 650 as a bluetooth device supporting dialup-networking and I was able to surf the web.

Cool, so now I can access the internet in my car if I want to.
How many years will it be so that buying a car without internet built in is like buying a car today without radio?

Treo 650 Dialup Networking (DUN)

I can see why Sprint doesn’t yet have support for bluetooth DUN. The hack that you can find to get it working is quite touchy, and you have to do it just right (complete with soft resets!) to get it to work correctly. Definately not user friendly.

At any rate, I’m typing this up via my Mac over bluetooth DUN through my Treo 650, so it is possible to get working. Although it lost connection halfway through this post for some reason. (multiple times)
I wonder if something was trying to communicate via Vision and messed it up?
Oh well. Barely if even usable.

Of course next step is to try with Windows XP in my car.
